Christmas time is usually my favorite time of year, I usually love ALL of it! The tree, the lights, the snow, the shopping & wrapping and oh my… the FOOD!! This year, I gotta be honest with you…I’m just not feeling it!
I’m climbing a lot of mountains on my own over here, as most people ACTUALLY are during the festive season. #checkonyourstrongfriends #lifeisntrealoninstagram
I feel like I’m just holding my breath not to SCREAM during the longggg checkout lines, or take out a crowbar and go apesh*t on the crowds of traffic! This is ALASKA?! Why are there SO many of you?! And no Karen, I don’t WANT to hear about your vegan, pomegranate “stuffing” recipe for the 3rd f*cking time! And I am fairly certain that wrapping paper is THE most useless form of trees we’ve ever come up with, yet nobody offers bags at retail outlets anymore without a price! Still, I feel obligated to put bows & tape around literally everything!!
For the love…STOP complaining about what your secret Santa at work gave you, be grateful! Your co-workers don’t actually know you and don’t really want to, Re-gift! It is not the end of the world…
Holidays can all be Soooo much. I’m broke, and I’m tired you guys. I know a big part of that is entirely personal, but I feel like a lot of people actually feel the same way. Of course I’m gonna be the one to say it out loud! #livingoutloud
On a side note, have you ever seen “Christmas with the Kranks”? It’s a movie about just skipping Christmas, and it’s pretty hilarious! If you haven’t seen it go check it out on Netflix or Amazon Prime. You’ll appreciate it, and you are welcome!
Don’t get me wrong, I know the TRUE meaning of Christmas and I absolutely love to GIVE this time of year, for it is so much better than to receive. #amen
I absolutely love the candlelight service at church on Christmas Eve, the songs about how “you are all I want” for Christmas…. even if what I REALLY mean is…that Michael Kors bag I saw the other night, sent you a photo of and left a drawing in the bathroom of (haha) is something I’d really, REALLY like for Christmas! #wink_wink
I do love the double amount of sweaters everyone wears this time of year like we are all layered enchiladas, and the Christmas lights! So bright!
I love the family/couple pajama photos, no matter how JCPenney you guys all look, and I love the inflatable snowman outside who looks like he’s breaking into every house from here to Seattle!
I just wish it were a time where we could be more at peace with each other, and not stretched so far from one commitment to the next, or one store to the next! There’s so many expectations, and so little gratitude.
As I said, a lot of this is completely personal, but it’s beginning to look a lot like f*ck this from my view!
What’s the thing you love/hate most about this time of year? What do you wish for?
With all that in mind, I do wish you and yours a very happy Christmas, Xmas, Hanukkah, or whatever else you are celebrating. Bah humbug!
